Our position: Florida needs a retooled economy because growth can't last forever 

"And they won't want to move or stay here if the sprawl fueling so much of our road rage also continues to steamroll Florida's magnificent but fast-disappearing landscape. Florida Department of Community Affairs Secretary Tom Pelham's initiative toughening the state's growth-management act could check much of it, but only if the Legislature gets behind it. So could local governments, if only they'd agree to build their cities up more, and out less."
