Lake Jesup Restoration Project
9:00 am to 12:30 pm
Join the Seminole County Lake Management/Water Quality Program, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, St. Johns Water Management District, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office & Friends of Lake Jesup for the FIRST EVER Lake Jesup Restoration. Work alongside biologists to plant native eelgrass along the sandy marl bed flats shoreline of Lake Jesup by Bird Island. This is a great way to learn about our environment and to make a difference. Volunteers will be transported by airboat to the planting location donated and provided generously by Black Hammock Adventures (www.theblackhammock.com). Meet at Lake Jesup Park, 5951 South Sanford Avenue, Sanford, FL 32773. Please bring yard gloves, hat, sunscreen, old clothes and closed-toed shoes. Plan to get muddy and wet! Eelgrass Harvest for Lake Jesup Restoration

Assist Seminole County biologists in harvesting the eelgrass we’ve grown for the FIRST-EVER Lake Jesup Restoration on April 14th! We need ~10-12 volunteers to help prep this important plant material. This is a great way to learn a lot and give back at the same time. Meet at 2751 Red Bug Lake Road, Casselberry, FL 32707. Once we meet, we’ll drive to the adjacent harvest location. Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-River Programs
Help protect our water resources and reduce pollution by joining our Adopt-A-Road and River Programs. Adopt your own section of road or riverway in Seminole County and schedule cleanups at your convenience. Volunteers are required to cleanup a section of roadway just four times per year and river just twice per year. This is a great way to leave your mark and protect our environment! Adopt-A-Park Program
This is an opportunity from Seminole County Leisure Services to enjoy and give back to our amazing Seminole County resources: “Parks are the place where it all comes together – a sense
of community, an appreciation of history and place, respect for nature. Seminole County’s park system includes over 8,000 acres of parks and natural lands as well as approximately 100 miles of paved and unpaved trails and trailheads.
