You must not know too much, or be too precise or scientific about birds and trees and flowers and water-craft; a certain free margin, and even vagueness - perhaps ignorance, credulity - helps your enjoyment of these things...

See below for more info:

  • August 14-Bike ride to Blue Springs and Swim. Meet at 9:30am at Lake Beresford Park and ride on the paved trail to Blue Springs State Park. Total, we will bike 6.6 miles round trip. This trail opened in 2008 and was made possible by ECHO funds and a partnership with the Florida Park System, which donated the land that runs through Blue Spring State Park. Bring a bathing suit and jump into the Blue Springs-the manatees have gone north for the summer but we can enjoy their cool water. Address for Lake Beresford Park: 2100 Fatio Road, DeLand. • August 15th- Kayak Rock Springs. Imagine yourself floating 8 miles down a crystal clear spring fed river just minutes from downtown Orlando. Birds chirp, otters splash, wind blows lightly through the trees. The trip starts at 9:30am at King's Landing in Apopka. You'll pass through a variety of environments including pine flatwoods, marsh land, sub-tropical and dense hardwood forests. This prime Florida wilderness is rated by the State as an Outstanding Florida Waterway. We will take out at Wekiva Island. • August 28th: Rainbow River Tube Trip-This pristine river system discharges nearly 500-million gallons of cool, clear water a day, making it the fourth largest freshwater spring in Florida and the eighth largest in the world. We will meet at the Super Walmart in Ocoee at 6:30am and carpool to Dunnellon, west of Ocala. We must get an early start since the park closes when it reaches capacity. Walmart address: 10500 West Colonial Drive, Ocoee, Florida 34761. $10.00 plus tax per person includes tube rental.
