If you love the great outdoors and want to be a good steward of the environment, you can experience Florida State Parks in a whole new way! 
 
Sign-up now, new projects will launch in the New Year.  Volunteer USA Vacations provides unique and meaningful opportunities for you to make a difference to Florida’s natural environment while enjoying high-quality outdoor activities. Projects are short-term adventures, a week or less, that focus on conserving the best outdoor recreational areas for families.

As a family, group or individual, you can create new bonds and enrich your understanding of each other as you share your skills in a team environment on a vacation. In exchange for your services, our partner the Florida Department of Environmental Protection provides complimentary park entrance, as well as campsite space, and recreational opportunities. The first three projects will get underway in January & February 2010, and we’re looking for great volunteers. 

Register Now For These Projects:

January 4-8, 2010   Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park (15 minutes from downtown Miami)  - Improve Mangrove Restoration Overlooks –volunteers will assist with clearing around two overviews to the parks’ mangrove restoration zone.  The overlooks are part of a park nature trail system. Free camping in the primitive youth camp and access to park amenities the beach, kayaks, hike or bike the many trails.
 
January 4-8, 2010   Wekiwa Springs State Park (45 minutes northwest of Orlando) Paint the Youth Camp – repair and paint twenty-seven buildings in the parks’ Youth Camp. Volunteers stay free in the Youth Camp with access to springs, canoeing the Wekiva River, biking and hiking trails. 
 
February 8 -12, 2010  Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park (15 minutes from downtown Miami) - Exotic Plant Removal – volunteers will assist the removal of the exotic invasive plants lather leaf, kalanchoe, papaya and castor within natural area restoration zones.
