I am a relatively new member to the Sierra Club, but I have been taken back by how much they do for Florida and this country. I can't wait to work on projects that directly help my new home, Central Florida!
I am originally from Los Angeles, CA and Park City, Utah and then moseyed on over to Massachusetts for college. I graduated from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and American Studies. I came to central Florida in 2007 and I couldn't figure out how to dive into the environmental movement...Sierra Club has answered my pleas! It has been an amazing way to meet people with similar interests and a way to learn more about my new home and what problems face it.
I think being from the beautiful city of Park City gave me a deep appreciation for natural, undeveloped land. I loved seeing moose or deer in my backyard and I understand how important nature and wildlife are to our well being and well as to the health of our environment. My key "green" interests are in energy, land conservation, reducing our consumption and educating everyone on how even a small thing can make a difference! |
